Haleakala is the fourth collaboration between slack key guitarist and Grammy winning Jeff Peterson and internationally famous shakuhachi master Riley Lee. Jeff, raised under the slpes of Haleakala, and Riley, who grew up on Oahu, first performed together in 1999. Until then, the combination of the shakuhachi and slack key guitar was unheard of.

The shakuhachi is ideally suited to hawaiian music, with its ability to play the soft melodies and rich harmonies, and the slides, bends and other ornaments, with an expressive quality rivalled only the human voice.

Riley Lee's shakuhachi and Jeff Peterson's slack key guitar is a musical match made in heaven.
