Koa is recognized as one of the world's most beautiful hardwoods. The Hawaiians used this indigenous wood in their canoes, surfboards, furniture, calabashes, and jewelry.
Koa trees grow on every island in Hawaii. In the forest, these majestic trees grow between the 600 and 5,000 ft. elevations and can reach heights of 80 feet. The color and texture of the wood varies from island to island, tree to tree. Generally, the colors may range from off white to yellowish green to reddish brown to dark brown and the texture may be described as simple, curly or "birdseye". Every koa piece is unique, warm, and inviting.
This beautiful koa business card case, lovingly handcrafted by local Hawaii artist Roy Tsumoto, measures 2 1/4 x 3 3/4. Each case will vary slightly in appearance from the photo shown above.
